Our History

Established in 1957 by a group of local community leaders, the Palmetto Youth Center provides a positive environment for at-risk children. These visionaries believed that it was important to reach at-risk children at critical and impressionable times in their lives. They were determined to provide these youth with the tools that they needed to lead productive and enriching lives.
